Seussical Jr at IHMSThe Indian Hill Middle School recently performed the musical "Seussical Jr.", a "fantastical musical extravaganza" by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.

The musical was selected because of the powerful message it sends about many issues facing middle school students.

"Yes, it is a fun musical with bright colors and great songs, but the themes of this show stand out compared to other Junior shows," said Heather Koester, middle school vocal music teacher. "It's a show about anti-bullying and kindness, adoption, acceptance, learning to love yourself for who you are, and for standing up for what you believe in. I believe that's why Dr. Seuss became such a legendary author. He didn't just write fun stories, he challenged kids to think. We also knew this particular group of kids wouldn't only do a great job with this show, but really embrace all of these themes and ideas. And they did not disappoint, they embodied everything this show is all about."
